Rookies,
Retirements, & Schedule Published
Life
is always good
news, bad news.
Good
news: The list of college players eligible for the
upcoming draft has been published.
Rookies,
Rookies, Rookies:
The
USAFL is a tough business. There is no time to sit
around a talk about the great times in the past.
There are rookies to look at and chart. As a GM,
you'd better spend a lot of time sorting the rookies
and prepare for the upcoming draft. Ask any GM, the
College Draft is the best way to build a roster.
Bad
news: The list of players retiring from your team
has been published.
As
in all things, you've gotta take the good with the
bad. The regular season has just ended and players
have to announce whether they wish to retire or play
another season and risk injury.
For some retirees, they are lucky and get to finish
their careers playing a playoff
game.
Retirement
Ages Table:
Max Age: they will retire at this age
Critical Age: they will consider retiring at this age
if they are not #1 starting position.
(Todd Ricotta culled this data
from our own history of rosters)

Scouting
Players:
The designers of Front Page Sports Football Pro use
a formula to determine a player's value. While many
of our General Managers use their own formulas, they
all will tell you they started from this basic
formula table.

for a QB: (SP*2)+(AC)+(AG)+(ST*4)+(HA*3)+(EN*2)+(IN*5)+(DI*2)
QB John Doe 70 68 50 88 79 69 87 92 = Total Value
is 1604
Note that the
multipliers add up to 20. If you edit for your own
use,
remember to keep the sum of the multipliers at 20.
Weighted
Schedules:
An
added bonus to the completion of the regular season,
the league publishes the schedule for the following
regular season. The schedule is weighted
based on strength, giving losing teams easier
schedules than winning teams. The leagues uses a
standard (home/away)
week
by week schedule in order to keep the schedules
fair from year to year.
